Kensington Rune Stone Park

About

Kensington Rune Stone Park is located on the original farm site of Olaf Ohman. Visit this historic park to view the actual discovery location of the infamous Kensington Runestone.

The park consists of 304 acres of wooded, gently rolling land which has two shelters for picnicking, outdoor game fields, trails for hiking and cross-country skiing, mountain bike trails, a playground area and flower beds. Packed trails for fat tire biking and groomed cross country ski trails are available in the winter.  There is also a downhill sledding hill right next to the Visitor Center, which is heated during the winter and is complete with a fireplace and restrooms for public use.

The shelters may be reserved by calling the Douglas County Park Division office at 320-762-2966 or follow this link and look for the park of your choice.
