Join the Big Ole Bike Club for a new event in the lakes area! The Big Ole Bicycle Festival will provide outdoor fun, friendly competition for those who wish, bike safety and more while cycling experts of the Alexandria Area get you out to explore great routes on your bike! Some of the locations will include Kensington Runestone Park, Lake Brophy Park, Andes Tower Hills, the Central Lakes Trail, Downtown and more! The event will take place August 11th-13th and will include many different activities, rides, and competitions each day.
Take a Group Ride through Beautiful Scenery!
The Big Ole Bicycle Festival will host multiple rides led by an area cycling expert to get you riding some of the best routes! These are guided group rides that are meant to accommodate many different skills levels. Choose from Gravel Rides, Road Rides, Mountain Bike Ride and a Vintage Bike Ride!
Fun for the Family :: Scavenger Hunt & Bike Rodeo!
Join in the family fun! The Bike Rodeo on Friday, August 11th from 4-6pm will teach children essential skills and safety for biking. This is something every child should experience to enjoy the life-long activity of cycling! Also, don’t miss your chance to win a FREE BIKE from Jake’s Bikes during the Scavenger Hunt! Get your clues at registration (Jake’s Bikes) and take selfies at the mystery locations to be entered in the drawings for one of two bikes being given away! Join in the Friendly Competition!
A multitude of time trials and races will take place during the Big Ole Bicycle Festival. There will be Slow Bike Races (how slow can you go?!), Drag Races, Road Time Trial, Adult Mountain Bike Race, Kids Mountain Bike Race and a Gravel Time Trial.
