Start your year off right, by coming to the park for a First Day Hike, under the light of the full moon. If conditions allow for it, snowshoes will be provided for those that need them. The naturalist will take you out on a guided winter adventure to see the sights. A frozen lake, a snow swept prairie, or a few snow glistened trees are not out of the question.
Night presents a whole new world to most of us. Very few of us spend extended periods of time in the dark and some people may even become fearful of the night. As humans we are constantly trying to reduce the fun of being outside after dark. This nature hike is sure to have something for everyone.
We will be out for around just over an hour and cover 1-1.5 miles in distance. Please dress appropriately for cold temperatures. Meet at Lakeview Warming Shelter.
There is no cost for this event, but a Minnesota state parks vehicle permit is required to enter the park ($7/day or $35/year).
