SUMMARY:Free MN State Park Day
DESCRIPTION:On four days each year\, all Minnesota state parks and state recreation areas offer free admission to everyone – no vehicle permits needed!\n  \nFree park days in 2026\n\nMonday\, January 19\nSaturday\, April 25\nSaturday\, June 13\nFriday\, November 27\n\nMinnesota state parks are open year-round\, and there’s a state park within 30 miles of most Minnesotans. With a free day in each season\, it’s a great opportunity to get out there and explore someplace new – or visit an old favorite at a new time of year! Whether you stay for the whole weekend or just spend a few hours outside\, you’ll make memories that will last a lifetime. \nThe entrance fee waiver for fee-free days does not cover amenity or user fees for activities like camping\, rentals\, or special tours. \nThe goal is to encourage families and friends to spend time together in nature. Research shows many health and wellness benefits to spending time in nature. According to ParkRx\, contact with nature improves one’s physical\, mental\, and spiritual health. Getting outdoors makes exercise more fun and can boost mood and immunity. The American Psychological Association shares that exposure to nature is linked to benefits including improved attention\, lower stress\, reduced risk of psychiatric disorders and even increases in empathy and cooperation.

SUMMARY:MN BASS Nation Tournament of Champions - 50th Anniversary
DESCRIPTION:Arrowwood Resort & Conference Center will welcome more than 200 competitive fishing participants and their families for the 50th Annual 2026 Minnesota B.A.S.S. Nation Tournament of Champions\, August 5-7\, on the Le Homme Dieu chain of lakes.\n  \nEveryone is welcome to come and watch the excitement and check out the fish brought in by this group of anglers. \nMinnesota B.A.S.S. Nation (MNBN) is a member of the B.A.S.S. Nation\, a global network of locally organized clubs whose members participate in and support a range of activities\, including tournaments\, conservation initiatives\, and youth programs. One competitor\, who qualifies through a rigorous series of local and regional tournaments and then the national championship\, advances to bass fishing’s biggest stage\, the Bassmaster Classic. \nAnglers participating in this 3-day event have qualified through their local clubs to earn their spots. The first 2 days of the tournament will be fished by the full field of approximately 100 boats (200 anglers). Day 3 will be the top 25 boaters and non-boaters fishing for their spots in the Regionals and Nationals competitions. \nThe statewide Tournament of Champions partners with a local nonprofit each year to support and raise funds\, with the annual donation ranging from $2\,000 – $4\,300. On Friday\, August 7\, members of the Minnesota B.A.S.S. Nation will present the funds raised during the awards ceremony.
