Alexandria Area Beginning to Display Great Fall Colors

A vibrant red maple leaf rests on a rough, textured log, surrounded by fallen autumn leaves in shades of brown and tan as the Alexandria area begins to display nice fall colors.

It’s always a delightful treat to be able to explore the great outdoors among great fall color displays. Luckily for the Alexandria lakes area, there are many different species of trees all over that typically will allow for a long season of color hunting. I have been seeing autumn hues popping up all over the area since Labor Day, and they have been slowly progressing ever since. Lately we have had some nights of cooler temperatures along with plenty of bright and sunny days, which will help accelerate the pace of progression along with helping entice vibrant colors from the leaves. The Alexandria lakes area is currently between 10-25% changed, with areas in the open and within City a little further along than the densely forested areas. The end of September and early to mid October should be great times to catch our dazzling autumn hues in the area. Don’t miss it! The following slides show pictures taken the week of September 20th around the area. Remember to share you fall photos for a chance to win prizes! Have fun, stay connected and keep Exploring!
