Little Big Ole Search Continues!

A small plush devil toy in a red outfit, resembling Little Big Ole, hangs from a tree branch holding a miniature football. A tag with printed text is attached, while the background is a tangle of bare branches awaiting your search.

After a winter season without snow, the Douglas Area Trails Association (DATA) is starting it’s Find Little Big Ole contest anyway. Originally it was set up as a way to encourage people to get out on the many miles of DATA snowmobile trails. The vision was to have people searching all over the county for the foot-tall replica doll of the cherished Viking icon as they took in miles of great scenic trails. Clearly that original plan did not work this year, but the group is determined to get people out experiencing Douglas County’s great outdoor landscape.

NEW RULES:

Under new rules you can find Little Big Ole on the trails out at any of the Douglas County Parks or along the Central Lakes Trail. If you find him you could win one of several weekly prizes! All you need to do is take a selfie with Little Big Ole and give a brief description of where you found him (guesstimate of his address or map coordinates) and email it to us at [email protected]. Little Big Ole will be moved by Wednesday of each week (starting Feb. 21st) to a new location. WATCH FOR CLUES EVERY TUESDAY!
Watch our Explore Alex Facebook page and the DATA Trails website/Facebook pages for winners and WEEKLY CLUES for the location of Little Big Ole.

Weekly prizes will be announced the following week by Tuesday.
