Join the Douglas County Historical Society on Saturday, July 19, 2025 (12-5 p.m.) for the 2025 Alexandria Historic House Tour!
This self-guided tour through Alexandria’s historic properties will invite guests to visit local historic residences and businesses to learn about the rich history of the city and its residents, and display some of the ways we’re keeping local history alive. On the morning of the tour, ticketholders will receive a packet with a tour map, location information, and even recommendations from our generous local dining sponsors so attendees can refresh and get a bite to eat* along the way in our beautiful downtown district.
Tour stops can be visited in any order and beginning with any location—the tour is entirely self-guided and transported, whether you’re driving, walking, or cycling your route around town! Guides at each location will greet you to to share information about the property and how it plays a role in Alexandria’s rich history.
Discounted $25 early bird tickets can be purchased HERE or by calling 320-762-0382, or visiting DCHS in person at 1219 Nokomis Street in Alexandria during our open hours, Monday-Friday, 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. Tickets may also be purchased on-site the day of the tour beginning at 11 a.m. and are $30, payable by check, cash, or card.
Please note that tickets are required, and attendees must check in on-site at DCHS (1219 Nokomis St. in Alexandria) prior to visiting tour stops! Check-in begins at 11 a.m. the day of the tour; advance ticket pick-up is not available.
(* Please note that stop hosts may ask you to not enter their properties with food or drink.)
