Artist of the Month

The Alexandria Art Guild’s June Artist of the Month, Jewett Benson, will be honored at an Artist Reception on Friday, June 12, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Guild’s downtown gallery, 612 Broadway Street in Alexandria. A retired Alexandria art educator, Benson works in watercolor, oil, and mixed media, creating landscapes, florals, abstractions, and graphic works inspired by the beauty of central Minnesota.

The public is invited to meet the artist, view a special exhibition of his work, and enjoy light refreshments.

The exhibition will remain on display throughout June. Gallery hours are Monday through Friday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.; Saturday, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.; and closed Sunday.
