About the Event

Prairie Lakes Audubon Chapter will hold its annual meeting on August 22.  Agenda items include the election of officers, a review of the past year’s projects, and a look forward to the coming year’s activities.  All members are encouraged to attend this meeting to help make decisions for the coming year.  A quorum is needed.

Following the meeting, Tim Schoonhoven, City engineer for the City of Alexandria, will speak about the vision and plans for the Alexandria Nature Trail.  Mr. Schoonhoven is Vice President of Widseth Smith Nolting and Associates, Inc.  He is a Civil Engineer with more than 40 years of experience in municipal engineering, site planning and development.  He has a great passion for the outdoors, as a swimmer, hiker, biker, kayaker and love of all water activities.

Tim will present on the vision for the Alexandria Nature Trail, a trail that would connect the City north-south roughly following the alignment of the SE watershed. This trail and the associated buffer has the potential of preserving natural habitat, protecting water quality, boosting economics, and providing non-motorized access throughout the City.

Come learn more about this trail and have your questions answered.

This meeting will be held at 7 p.m. at Calvary Lutheran Church, 605 Douglas St. in Alexandria, MN.  Come early, as refreshments will be served at the beginning of the meeting.  We look forward to seeing you there to meet other folks interested in nature, birds, and conservation!

There is no cost to attend this program. For further information please contact by email [email protected]
