In this year of Wicked and the prequel to The Wizard of Oz, storyteller Kevin Kling brings us a hilarious and irreverent sequel: SCARECROW ON FIRE! The three iconic Oz friends – the Tin Man, the Lion, and the Scarecrow – are bored with their cozy lives in Oz and feel the pull of a psychological cry from their old friend Dorothy. Using her leftover ruby slippers, the trio makes the reverse journey to Kansas.

Once there, the Tin Man, an art-loving mechanical man, becomes fascinated by Kansas’ fellow machines. The brave Lion is perplexed by the fear his beautiful baritone “roar” provokes. And the Scarecrow proves once again that actual brains are overrated—especially in Kansas. Their search leads them to a desperate Dorothy, caught in another kind of whirlwind, and a Wizard who has reinvented himself as a persuasive radio DJ on WOOZ.

SCARECROW ON FIRE! features a stellar cast, accompanied by the unforgettable music of the era and enhanced by cinematic scenes from the 1925 silent Wizard of Oz, along with nods to the 1939 version we all know and love.
