Recent snow and frost have made for some amazing scenery across the Alexandria Area. Add plenty of sunny blue skies, mild temperatures, relatively no wind and you have winter utopia. One place to see all of that winter wonderfulness is on the top of Hollywood High at Andes Tower Hills. From on top of the hill you could hear all kinds of conversations, the mild hum of snowmobiles on the nearbyDATA Trails, and a lot of laughter from kids young and old flying down the tubing hill. People on Andes’ cross country trails said it was a magical trek through the woods.
While people were enjoying all of the offerings at Andes, closer to the north side of Douglas County on the grounds of Bold North Cellars people were celebrating their addition of three miles of skiing and snow shoeing trails called the Bold North Trails. Bold North Cellars is home toCarlos Creek Winery, 22 Northmen Brewing Company and Stoke Wood Fire Grill providing a unique combination of outdoor and indoor offerings.
Weather forecasts call for above average temperatures for many of the next ten days, but luckily for lovers of the winter season and for anyone who drives, those temperatures will stay below freezing.
If you don’t own winter equipment (snowmobiles, fishing equipment, snow shoes, skis, fat tire bikes, etc) go to our Winter Guide page for rental options.
