Mountain Bike Trail Conditions

A person wearing a red jacket and helmet rides a mountain bike along a narrow, leaf-covered trail through a dense, wooded forest in the Lakes Area—an ideal spot for socially distant summer activities. Fallen branches line the left side of the path.

The Alexandria Lakes Area has two beautiful networks of designated mountain bike trails in two Douglas County Parks. These are trails are great for both hiking and mountain biking! Kensington Runestone Park has mountain bike trails that weave through the forest, hills and lakes. Lake Brophy Park, right on the Central Lakes Trail,  has designated trails that traverse glacial hills in the open air with breathtaking views of surrounding lakes.  Additional trails were constructed in late 2022 at Lake Brophy County Park to add to the options available to riders.
