Big Ole through the Years

A large, colorful statue of a Viking warrior—known as "Big Ole" through the years—stands on a street median, surrounded by vintage cars, streetlights, and buildings under a blue sky with scattered clouds.

Big Ole received some cheer during the Holiday season of 1966 when he was dressed up like Santa. Unfortunately Ole’s Christmas vacation came to a screeching halt in January of 1967 when his festive garb went up in flames due to a prank. Some sources state a flaming arrow was shot at poor Ole Claus.
