The Alexandria area is known as a great vacation spot in Minnesota, with good reason! Our beautiful State Park, Central Lakes Trail, historic downtown, and of course over 300 lakes make for a fun and relaxing get-away year around. Besides the obvious, you’ll also find many other interesting and unique attractions around the area like museums, arts, parks, golf, live music and much more. The opportunities to catch some good live music in Alexandria goes all year around, just like many other fun things in the area. Let’s take a quick look at the two venues hosting consistent live music all year around!

One of the premier stops to check out some great live music is Sixth Avenue Wine & Ale in downtown Alexandria. They feature a delicious food menu along with over 70 wines and 40 different beers and ales. Many of the brews and wines are difficult to find anywhere else in the area. Enjoying a fine glass of wine or ale along with some live music is a perfect blend of fun for an evening. Live music at Sixth Avenue Wine & Ale takes place on most Thursdays-Saturdays all year around. See their upcoming schedule to see who is playing.

Another consistent host of quality live music is the award-winning Carlos Creek Winery. As if sampling good wine, enjoying their walking paths, yard games and winery tours wasn’t enough…. they also have live music year around! Music is on Saturdays during the winter months and both Saturday and Sunday during the summer. A visit to Carlos Creek Winery is always a well-rounded fun experience, and ultra-fun if you plan to visit during the famous Grape Stomp or Applefest. See their live music schedule to see who is playing next!

There are many other opportunities to catch some tunes throughout the year. The Red Willow Arts Coalition brings in very good music acts from all around the region for free concerts every Thursday night on the courthouse lawn during the summer. Look for our upcoming blog on those concerts once the schedule is released. The fantastic seasonal restaurant Bug-a-boo Bay hosts numerous nights of music and dancing during the summer. The AAAA Theatre has musical acts and productions as well as many musicians performing at Art in the Park on July 25-26th. Find all the great events and additional music on our website calendar.
