People Are Planning Their 2023 Alexandria Getaways Now
October 13, 2022    //    Joe Korkowski
(Alexandria, MN) It is an unfortunate situation our office hears about on a regular basis. People want to come enjoy and explore what Alexandria has to offer, but they are having a difficult time finding lodging during the busy spring, summer and fall tourist seasons. Tournaments, corporate gatherings, sports teams and wedding parties secure hundreds of rooms throughout the year. There are options for people if they are only a couple weeks away from their anticipated visit, but why risk it? If you want to give yourself, your company, your organization, your wedding party, or your family a better chance at a great 2023 GETAWAY, book a room now! Choose from many national hotel chains, corporate and family resorts, charming bed and breakfasts and vacation rental properties.
There are a lot of Things to Do once you get here. Anything to do with the water, whether it’s fishing, boating, kayaking, wake surfing and on and on are huge draws, simply because of all the lakes (350+) in Douglas County. You don’t have to own a boat or kayak, or any other item as there are rentals at your fingertips. I don’t want to gloss over the fishing in the Alexandria Lakes Area because with all of those lakes, you have a lot of fish varieties to get on the end of your hook. Local, regional and national fish tournaments schedule their events each year on our lakes for a good reason.
Outdoors are a huge draw the Alexandria Lakes area and the more than 2300 acres of park land can provide plenty of hiking, biking, camping, kayaking, bird watching and a lot more. Click on this link to see some of the park options available along with many other adventure options.
Shopping throughout the Alexandria area is a very popular year round activity. The beautiful downtown features dozens of stores from clothing boutiques, antiques, jewelry, decor, sporting goods, books, beads, blankets, formal wear, Alexandria-specific items, coffee shops and restaurants. Just park your car along Broadway Street, a side street or in one of several city parking lots and start shopping. The sidewalks are handicap-accessible and make downtown shopping available for everyone.
Where Can We Eat?
Alexandria has more than 60 restaurants, both national chain restaurants and locally-owned cafes and restaurants. At most times of the year, getting a reservation or simply a timely meal is not a problem in Alexandria. It’s never a bad idea to call ahead to make sure. Peruse through the many dining options to see what would compliment your stay in 2023.
